That's a good, balanced approach, Dana. Not obsessing doesn't come easily to me, but I'm trying. :)

The other day my 4 year old wanted to stay in his pajamas all day. Instead of fighting with him (since we had no plans outside the house anyway) I just let it go. My mom instinct told me to get the child dressed but he was happy and what would it hurt? We had bathtime and fresh pjs that night we were all just fine and I figured , 'why obsess?'

I hear you on rushing..sometimes our kids teach us a lot about smelling the flowers :)
